Information
The Wailing Souls are undoubtedly one of the finest exponents of vocal harmony singing to ever come out of Jamaica and all their work for the Hookim brothers at Channel One is gathered here for the first time on one release. 'The Wailing Souls at Channel One' brings together sixteen tracks set of extended twelve inch mixes, versions, deejay cuts and dubs including the twelve inch version of 'War' featuring DJ Ranking Trevor and the original seven inch cut of 'Lawless Society' followed by the dub.

A beautiful collection of material that covers one of the key Kingston vocal groups at the height of their powers with vocal interplay and stunning harmony singing backed by the explosive drumming of Sly Dunbar and the Revolutionaries.

This is a guaranteed package of the highest quality with photos from Adrian Boot, sleeve notes by Harry Hawke and artwork by Jeb Nichols. Another cracker from Pressure Sounds spread over four sides of vinyl or on one CD with a twelve page booklet. Essential.

essential LP

I'm sure all will agree, when you collect records from any genre for a number of years, as time goes on, the records that really stand out take longer to find. For me, this was the case with this release. Absolutley stunning, without question one of my favourites.

Superb

Brilliant compilation. The inclusion of the epic "Very Well" in all its glory is worth the purchase price alone.
