Information
We have a limited number of albums with damaged sleeves that we are selling off at a cheaper price.

In the past many of our albums have focused on the work of one producer, artist or label but the More Pressure series will focus on our favourite tunes rather than any of these categories. The gloves are off!!

This album is simply stunning - in our opinion - and we have chosen tracks that are our personal favourites so every track is a stone dead killer. Although some of them may be slightly unfamiliar don't panic as this really is the crème de la crème of reggae music.

'Diverse Doctrine' by Ras I Buna, Michael Rose with 'We Shall Overcome' included with its searing dub version and The 'Way It Is' by I Kong are not only extremely rare but also fantastic to listen to... 'Folk Song' by Uhuru (Black Uhuru's first ever recording) rare as hens teeth!!!

Packaged with the usual care and attention and superb artwork we think this is fabulous stuff and is sure to be a popular release with all Pressure Sounds fans.

Straight to the Heart

I love this record. The dub, Over Come by The Key is just amazing. A Michael Rose single prior to his future Black Uhuru days. It's a super rare cut and one we should all thank Pressure Sounds for. Much respect to their digging skillz. This is no doubt a collection of material worth every penny. If you're short on the coin then skip a few meals. You won't be disappointed.

More Pressure

Vocals : 5 Backing : 5 Production : 5 Sound quality : 5 Sleeve : 5
Just when you thought the re-issue market had run dry, just as you thought there were no more surprises left in the vaults besides hyped - but best left buried second rate B sides... think again! Pressure Sounds come back with perhaps their best album since "Kool Roots" and "Voodooism". No need for rhetoric or hyperbole -- this music speaks for itself and there is not one single bad track or dull moment on the entire record, from the moment its opening notes, drum roll and bass kick drop, to the final dub, "Eight Against Rome", an outrageous take on "Death in the Arena." A well worn track, you may think -- surely no need to hear yet another version. Think again. This is pure sheet metal shredding force and abstract power, with Shaka-like high frequency tones ripping a course through the centre of the composition.

Another shocking surprise is "The Way It Is", which audaciously versions... wait for it... Blondie's "Rapture"... and believe it or not, it works beautifully, transforming the kitsch and schmaltzy original into a work of poetry and elegiac beauty.

"Skyjack" is a meditative revelation to these ears, and sounds so very like a track of Bullwackie's "African Roots". Did Wackie borrow the vocal track and dub it?

"Free Meal Ticket" is a Rockers version of Cornell Campbell's Afro Cuban edged "Me No Born Yah", and the Tafari Syndicate tune "Free For All", is the raw funk scything guitar track which features on the Pressure Sounds website.

This is hands down one of the best re-issues of the last five years. One might even stretch that and state it is one of the best re-issues of the last decade. No fat on this one, just raw, lean soulful roots and innovative dub -- not the tired second rate, imitative and strictly conservative dub we repeatedly hear in 2006, but the heart and soul of the original form, pristine, perfect and audacious.

You need this CD

Yet another brilliant set of tracks from Pressure Sounds.
This is a gem, no self respecting Regggae Fan should be without this. Great tracks from Ras Ibuna "diverse doctrine, I Kong "the way it is" and a rare cut of a well known Cornell Cambell track are just 3 (actually 5 including 2 crucial dubs) reasons why this is top class stuff. Delighted to have found what the Pressure Sounds "theme" tune is and to have two versions. Can't wait for volume 2.
